If rides are your thing, Terra Mitica is the place to go. It is compared to Alton Towers by some reviewers . Cost is 25€ for kids, 33€ for adults. Cheaper if you buy a two day ticket but usually one day is quite enough!

In Alicante, dominating the town, is the Castillo de Santa Barbara. Incredible views down over the port, town and sea. Free to visit unless you use the lift to reach it (and you should!) which costs just under 3€.
